Confused about milk intake after 1 year!

DD is on Neocate but we're trying out soya products to see how it goes. Anyway, DD is starting to reduce the amount of neocate she wants and is approaching getting down to two 6oz a day. Does anyone know what the recommended amount of milk is that I should be giving? And if giving as a soya yoghurt, what it equates to in oz of milk? I've got an annabelle karmel book and it says a yoghurt can equate to 10oz of milk! This sounds a lot! I'm totally confused and my HV is hopeless!!

You should really get a referral to paediatric allergy dietician.

How much calcium is in the soya yoghurt?

Agree, you need a referral and one to a Paed dietician too. What allergies does your dd have?

Thanks both. I do have an appt but it's not until august.. I'm just a bit worried that she's just not taking her bottles as much now. I've always had trouble, but now it's so hard as she takes about 4oz and then just gets up and crawls away!! She'll happily take porridge with soya milk and yoghurts etc, so I'm trying to figure out how much she needs to be ok...

from 1 year 300mls of milk is recommended (or the equivalent in dairy products). It is recommended they have 350mg of calcium per day which 300mls of milk would provide.

I would look at the calcium content of the yoghurts, soya milk, etc

A bowl of Ready Brek is very high in calcium, look into that

LindsayS79 · 20/06/2014 23:56

Brilliant. I'll look into the ingredients then. That really helps to know the calcium. I've been looking online and it's all different!

The poor soul just wants to grab all foods so I can't wait to (hopefully) be able to give her cheese too!! She's allergic to dairy but they're hoping she outgrows it. Thankfully she's fine with hidden egg and loves pasta!

Ready brek contains milk solids I think. You can get vegan cheese, its a bit plastic but tastes ok!

CultureSucksDownWords · 05/07/2014 10:48

Ready brek is just oats and added vitamins, no milk solids.

smokeandfluff · 07/07/2014 18:18

Sorry I was mistaken, it doesn't contain milk solids but for some reason it has on the label that its not suitable for milk allergy sufferers.
