I can't find an existing discussion on this, so I thought I'd start one. Please can everyone post links to any baby weaning recipe websites that they've found. I've got several recipe books but often they don't seem to match what I've got in the fridge.
I'll start with homemade recipes on Cow and Gate's website

what about home made oven chips with a guacamole dip? my favourite way of eating avocado is dousing it in lemon juice and salt... probably not very child-friendly.

ooh I love guacamole myself, but never even thought of that. However I'm always lazy and have shop-bought. How do I make it?

And homemade oven chips is a great idea. Are they done like roast spuds, but chip-shape?

I have to admit that my little one had 5 curly chips when we were at a restaurant a week ago. Probably way too salty.

i just mash the avocado with a little bit (say half a small clove) of garlic, a splash of yoghurt and quite a bit of lemon juice. i'd put some tabasco into mine but perhaps leave it out for my dd.
sprinkle some spring onions onto the top if you like a bit of crunch, but it's not essential. some people like to put tomatoes in but i think it's too faffy.

and my husband is the chips maestro, but i think he gets some King Edwards or some other good chip potato and cuts them into wedges then gets a bowl with a small amount of olive oil and a splash of soy sauce and rubs the wedges with the mixture.

then onto a wire rack in your roasting dish for about, say 40 mins, (start prodding after half an hour). if you don't have a wire rack then you'll need to turn them halfway.

obviously, the soy sauce is salty so it should technically be left off, but i always have to run them under the tap to cool them down for DD anyway so I guess it's washed off. we have these a lot, they are really low-fat and delicious.

Aitch, I tried your chips recipe tonight, excluding the soy sauce. And I extended it to also do parsnip, carrot, aubergine and red pepper. A success, as he did eat at least one chip, and me and hubbie loved them.
Got to think of a way to use up the bag of oven chips in the freezer now, without just binning them.

one chip is quite a lot, really, when you consider the size of their tummies... (and i do think they taste even nicer with just a splash, literally no more than a teaspoon, of soy sauce. most of it gets left in the bowl anyway...)
