How often should I add new foods?

At the moment I aim for one a day as I waited until 26 weeks to wean her. Even that seems a bit fast but it feels like its going to take forever to establish a decent variety of foods. We haven't had any problems so far. Can I relax a bit now and maybe go for 2+ things...?
Thanks

sjv - with my three, it was one new food every three days, the first day mixed with baby rice to dilute the taste a little, then two more days to give them a chance of real tasting and to make sure they weren't allergic to anything. Have you seen the books by Annabelle Carmel (sp?) - her first one even gives you daily menus - with my first it was great - couldn't have got started without it...and then adapted as we went along (mine have all been 20-26 weeks at weaning too) Good luck!

If you can get your hands on any books by Sara Lewis too, they're good. Lots of different recipes for different age groups and then meal ideas for the whole family using the same ingredients (eg - meal for mum & dad, a toddler and baby)

Can I hijack and ask if anyone had problems with more savoury foods, veg etc. DD is eight months and loves her cereals and fruits but when it comes to veg she clamps her mouth shut and shakes her head (little brat!!) I wasn't worried at first but I'm sure at this stage she should be well established on lots of veg and meat. Will it just take time?

Annabel Karmel has some weird combinations of fruit & veg together: chicken, grapes & courgettes; french beans, tomatoes & apple; courgettes & banana to name a few. Mine enjoyed them! Or try mixing with a lot of baby rice or potato first. Or have two pots on the go - one of fruit, one of veg and try alternating the spoonfuls.
