Introducing finger foods

DD is almost 7 months and weaning is going well. I gave her some toast for the first time yesterday and she LOVED it! I've since gave her banana and a low salt sausage to chomp on.
She gagged a bit (expected) however she was very enthusiastic and was taking big bites. Is this normal? What should I do when she takes a big chunk? Should I take it out of her mouth?!
She just loves eating so much, but I want to make sure she does it safely!!

If she takes a big bite, leave her to it. She may gag but in time, she'll learn to chew.

Definitely don't take food out of her mouth with your fingers. You risk pushing it beyond her gag reflex and down her throat, causing choking. And she won't learn to chew or enjoy mealtimes if you're hovering over her and whipping food out of her mouth!

Thanks both! It's hard not to panic but I know I need to keep it stress free for her to learn and enjoy food
