We have a 7 and a half month old baby, she is currently eating fruits and veg purée's very well.

I think we now want to start introducing meet to her but don't really know where to start. Does anybody have any ideas and how to go about it?

I started at 6 months and ds just was not impressed with veg alone! Get yourself a copy of Annabel Carmel, or google the recipes. Chicken/beef casserole, lots
Of fish based ones with lots of veg which you purée. Ds can't get enough of them!

My DS helped himself to a piece of medium rare steak as his first food aged about 5 months - he had great fun sucking the juices out and chomping!

Why not just make a lovely beef or chicken casserole so the meat goes very tender and even baby gums ought to be able to deal with that :)

ps - dark meat on chicken seems easier for them to cope with than breast

I also used Annabel Karmel. While ago now, but I introduced them one per week, starting with chicken and then lamb.

Snap - also have a 7 and half month old! We've just given her a small amount of what we are having if we've cooked it from scratch and hence can avoid salt. Most of it is done in the slow cooker so she's had chicken stew, pork stew and meatballs. The meat goes so soft it shreds down easily into baby mouth sizes!
And today we gave her some flakes of white fish from our fish and chip dinner ;-)
Granted we've never done the puree thing (as I'm too lazy for that) so maybe you can either blitz up like you do the veg if you don't want to introduce texture - but at this age are more than able to cope with textures as well - quite funny watching them as they react to a different feeling in their mouth!
