Have you got one of those bibs that are long sleeved and tie at the back? They cover the whole of the front of tops

tenalady · 31/07/2006 14:14

No miracle cure, I complained to one of the detergent companies after they advertised that it could get out all these stains and it didnt. They sent me a voucher and strangely enough, I havent seen the advert in a long time.

Just avoid spillage, I used to cover him in a muslin cloth and wash them out in a hot wash or even boil.

Naked is the only way
Carrot and tomato are really bad news aren?t they?
I remember going through my stash of cleaning stuff starting with vanish and working my way up to neat bleach!
Try a splash of bleach mixed with a sink of water and then adding clothes - leave minimum time and check. A bit drastic but if nothing else will shift it after trying oxi-clean, vanish, cilt bang etc and overnight soaking etc then bleach is about your only answer. Add a bit more each time and for longer until stain goes.
I have lost some clothes this way as the patterns couldn?t cope with the bleach but equally have saved a lot of items that I thought I would need to bin.

In future, whip off any marked clothing straight after the feed and soak. Don?t let it dry out as it is easier to treat if attacked fresh. Also, worth getting a long sleeved terry towelling, plastic backed type bib thing as many bibs don?t keep the arms clean
Good Luck

Hi

i've found milton sterilising solution gets most stains out - just follow the instructions as per sterilising a bottle.

Hope it works for you!

Do you soak the clothes for 24hrs? i managed to remove dried in cherry juice, apple and blackcurrant smoothie and chocolate mini milk from a plain white t-shirt with no stains at all. I used a mix of oxiaction vanish powder and the gel liquid straight onto the tshirt and soaked in fairy laundry liquid for 24 hrs. I gave it a scrub before sticking it in the machine.

Hang out in the sun - amazing!!

Doesn't do banana though.

Hi

yes left the clothes in for 24 hrs - probably could do it in less but between one thing and another (ds working out he can climb/ catch the cat etc etc!) a day had gone by !
