Didn't heat up chicken dish for baby - help!

I feel really bad because I can't believe I've done this (without thinking....). I gave my 6 month old a portion of a chicken puree meal I'd made and defrosted in the fridge overnight. She only seems to like food cold so I just gave it straight to her in its defrosted state but not re-heated. I know I should have heated it until piping hot (I think) and then let it cool before giving it to her and now I'm really worried she might get food poisoning! She brought some of it up a few hours later and has been rather unsettled this afternoon/eve but still had a breastfeed this afternoon and a full bottle this evening before bed (I'm mix feeding) and I think that she was just overtired this afternoon.

Do you think she'll be OK? I'm panicking a bit....

How is she now pixie?

She will be fine. As long as it was properly cooked before being frozen ie not raw chicken then the cooking then freezing will zap the bugs.

I am ashamed to say I have done this kind of thing a lot!

thanks both for your posts! She's absolutely fine thank you! I just had one of those horrible moments a few hours after feeding it to her when I realised what I'd done (or not done!). The chicken was properly cooked before being frozen and that's the main thing I believe as you say oohdaddypig! I served the same dish again today (defrosted overnight) but made sure it was piping hot first and then let it cool to be on the safe side.... thanks again and lesson learnt!
