Looking for some snack time inspiration - packets of sunflower and pumpkin seeds say they are a choking hazard...any advice on this?? X

They're quite sharp-edged and chewy so I would be a bit nervous giving them to a toddler (assuming you're meaning a child who could be as young as 15 months). But then I still haven't dared to give my 2.9yo a whole grape.

My dd is 17 mths and a good baby led weaning chewer...I was thinking a few in her dried fruit snack boxes....

MY DS was blw too but I would still be careful. Maybe just make sure you're watching her while she eats them.

My almost 3 year old has recently started eating seeds at nursery. I'm sure she'd have coped with them earlier but not sure I'd have given them at 17 months. Again a confident BLWer and I never squished blueberries or worried too much about cutting grapes.

Thanks - maybe we'll give them a miss for now x

Mine (2.8) won't eat seeds but they do eat nuts - pistachios, cashews and almonds. I buy unsalted ones a d of course don't let them eat them by themselves. I'm not sure they'd eat seeds - they probably think they're for birds - as they're quite chewy.

My 18m old eats pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, pine nuts and broken Cashews very well. He was BLW and I watch him eat them but he has had no problem.
