My 6 month old DD is a dot she is not yet 14lb. We have been weaning for a while now on professional advice and it's going really well. Does anybody have any suggestions of foods I can give that are nutritious and calorific?

Nut butters and avocado. How about rice pudding with added cream?Avoid wholewheat foods.

and have you tried adding dairy or olive oil to everything? If for instance you give her pasta with a tomato sauce, you could add a big dollop of mascapone, olive oil or butter and cream can be added to mash. How about a nice fish pie with lots of cream in the mash?

To make things tricky she is milk intolerant so can't have any dairy! I think this is where I am struggling to know what to give her.

That does make it tricky, but its still doable! Have you seen this tread? Smile

Could you add olive oil lto everything? Smooth nut butters and avocado will still be ok as well Smile

Oh and don't forget oily fish. My dd loves salmon nibbles as she calls them. Can your dd have egg? You cut up a salmon fillet into chicken nugget size pieces, dip in egg then roll in breadcrumbs and bake in the oven. We usually have our with wedges and veg Smile

Thanks for the link to the thread, I'll have a good read. Your salmon nibbles sound yum I will try her with them as yes she can have egg. She loves to feed herself so hopefully they will be a hit!

Why avoid wholewheat? Are they hard to digest?

Not hard to digest but they make baby feel fuller, so will eat less. Bit like being on a diet which is the opposite of what you want Smile

How about eggy bread?
