BLW-ers: do you find your DC is more prone to choking when they have a cold?

My 11m DS is smoring with a cold just now and at the end of lunchtime today I gave him a mini breadstick (which I've given him before loads of times) but he managed to choke on a bit to the point of vomiting up a fair amount of lunch & then having a cry from the fright of it all (not surprising!)

After it was all over I felt quite freaked out.

Do I need to tread a bit more carefully with foods whilst he's all bunged up?

Didn't notice this with DD, maybe it's just that he's getting more confident and was taking more "risks" ? Or it could be that DD was lucky with being bunged up.

I'd just carry on though - he brought it up so dealt with it well himself!

Choking or gagging?

You've probably just been unfortunate, and it's nothing to do with BLW. I hope you and your DS are ok now.

No more chokes thank god. But his terrible cough means I just have to be careful for the next few days as he almost inhaled a piece of fish tonight when he coughed whilst eating it!
