When should I stop giving my 20mth old a bottle of milk

Hi there, my dd is 20 months and I currently give here a full bottle of whole milk in the morning and then the same at night before she goes to bed. In between she eats normally, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks etc. I was just wondering if I should stop this or should she still be having this much milk a day? Also, should she be having this in a beaker instead of a bottle now?

If she's eating fine and growing fine, then what you're giving her is fine. My two have half a cup of milk in the morning and a beaker of milk at bedtime, and they're 5 and 3. I'd give them more mik in the morning if they wanted it.

She probably ought to have a beaker by now, rather than a bottle, but IMO it's not really a big deal. I think the bottle is only a problem if,, as a result, they reject solids (which she obviously doesn't) or if they spend hours sucking on it, in which case it's bad for the teeth.

Like I said, my 5yo (almost 6) still drinks his bedtime milk out of a beaker with a spout - that's his comfortable bedtime routine, and I don't see any reason to change it until he's ready.

Thanks PrettyCandles I'll try her with a beaker and see how she gets on. She drinks water out of a beaker during the day no problem so I'll see how she goes
