Cooking, freezing, reheating and breastmilk

If I make cauliflower cheese (for example) with breastmilk then is it ok to reheat it?
I'm thinking i cook it with the flour, butter, cheese, then freeze it all. Defrost it either in the fridge or straight into a pot from frozen (which is more likely if ive forgotten!)
I no longer live in the UK so 'fresh' milk isnt a great alternative here.

I was told to treat BM as you would treat normal fresh cow's milk.

So yes, I would reheat it.

clairikins · 17/12/2013 19:32

why don't you make it with cows milk. They can have cows milk in cooking just not to drink. That way you can eat it at the same time

We are not in the uk so we are struggling to find a brand of cows milk that agrees with us here, lots of expats have issues with it, but that's another thread.

While I'm in the early stages of weaning id rather use breast milk so I know what she is getting.
Another question- if I freeze my bm, defrost to use in cooking can I then refreeze and reheat?

Anyone who can help with 2nd question?

I would personally, not sure if that's 'correct' advice or not. I would make sure thoroughly reheated then taste to ensure not sour, then use.

It was more the risk of bacteria growth I thought was the issue? Can't seem to find a straight answer but plenty of recipes that are bm friendly and freezable. I can express a decent amount but not enough if I'm cooking in bulk.
