10.5 month old baby still 'choking' on lumps in food- is this normal? Will it get easier when he gets teeth?

Baby weaned at 6.5 months, we started slowly and followed guidelines with regard to what to do and when to introduce new foods as far as possible.

I didn't get on with blw as ds was very prone to gagging and choking and then vomiting and it made me nervous.

I've been cooking from scratch and blending and now I use a fork to mash when at all possible.

I'm trying to give baby toast, baby rice cakes pancake etc and sometimes he copes fine but other time he chokes and throws up. It's really a case if that it not really smooth, he will find a lump and choke.

How do other people sail through weaning? Will it get better when he gets teeth?

DD2 was a nightmare to wean. She gagged at any lumps, and sometimes even purees, until 9/10 months.

I can't tell you what changed it as I haven't a clue. But now at 13 months she eats everything.

So my only advice is to keep going really. Not that helpful, I know.

Has she ever been checked for tongue tie? My DS wouldn't accept lumps for ages but could eat a sandwich or toast, he had tt and upper lip tie.
