low or no sugar biscuit recipe

Our little girl wants to copy us and we are about to start weaning.
I've been assessing our meals for last few days and have figured out that most of the time there is something suitable to give her - usually the veg part of the meal. The main thing is when we are out and about and having cups of tea and biscuits. She's already reaching out to grab and I know that other people (like grandparents!) already want to give her theirs. Rather than a big confrontation about our parenting choices and also so DD feels like she is joining in I'd like to have something I can give her that looks like a biscuit but isn't sugary sweet like the ones the adults are eating.
Does anyone have a recipe they recommend? Or how have you handled these situations? Or am I overthinking this?!

You might be overthinking it a little. I was worried about sugar too though. I gave my ds the organix biscuits as these have less sugar than the Heinz biscotti. You could also make your own low sugar rusks, I got a brilliant book which is worth investing in anyway, called Finger Foods for Babies and Toddlers by Jennie Maizels. Well worth getting the book, you can make loads of your own foods and it's all healthy.
Alternatively what about offering her a rice cake? Again, my ds loved the Organix or Hipp Organic apple flavour ones.

Have a look at the baby food aisle. I like the ones that come in little 2 biccy packs. Easy to transport.

Search mumsnet for banana oatmeal cookies. I use some really overripe bananas, no sugar & add raisins.

I think you're over-thinking a bit. What about an ordinary plain biscuit eg Rich Tea? Or oatcakes, fig rolls etc?

I think it's more the social aspect of eating together that they enjoy rather than necessarily having the same food to eat.
My 8mo rarely eats the same as us due to him having allergies - he couldn't care less though and is happy to eat a selection of finger foods if we are out while I might be eating a dinner or sandwich.

Mine liked Nigella's cheese stars from "how to eat"

I can empathise as I tried to avoid sugar for as long as possible (despite grandparents wanted to give her cake etc.) so tried to come up with sugar free biscuits that I could make easily and freeze. She could then eat them when we were having our treats. These banana banana biscuits went down well and these tahini and honey biscuits are tasty and have all the nutrition that comes with tahini. My daughter is now 2.5 and does eat sugar but also continues to enjoy these healthier treats that I make...good luck.

Can i.just add that honey should be avoided until 12 months and the mumsnet oat and banana cookies are tasty.

River cottage baby & toddler book: apple & spelt star biscuits. Easy, yum, AND they freeze. I have a bag of stars & Xmas trees in the freezer at the mo. they defrost in about 10mins.

Plum do pumpkin wafers that are sugar free. Ds seems to like them
