Dropping dream feed - what age?

Hi I am after some advice please. My ds is 11 months and still has a 7 oz dream feed at abt 10. Without it he wakes at night and he won't take anymore food in day. How can I reduce the dream feed without unsettling him at night ?
All advice appreciated thanks

have you tried cutting it down an ounce at a time? Could you give a snack before bed?

He has been having a wetabiz or similar before bed will milk but doesn't seem to stop the hunger. If I move the fee back 15 min every 2 nights and drop an oz every 4 would that work?

We've never done a regular dream feed so I can't answer the question you asked, but if it works I'm curious to know why you feel you need to drop it? Maybe he'll start to just take less and gradually get to the point he no longer needs it of his own accord in time.

Brugsmania - I guess for no other reason than 'everyone' tells me I should have by now. This is my second DS so I guess I should be over what other people advise by now and just keep it going. Any phasing out has been put on hold as he has been ill and refusing nearly all food and I am grateful to get anything down him at the minute.

I still dream feed my DS who is 9mo at 11pm ish, and see absolutely no reason to drop it, ever, as long as it's helping him sleep through the rest of the night. It's no trouble as I'm awake anyway. I think there's a vague sense that babies should be sleeping through the night at a certain point - but quite frankly as long as I get to sleep through my night, who cares? Grin

12 hours is a long time for a person of any age to go without food or drink IMO. Keep the dream feed if you and your baby are happy with it.

We stopped the dream feed at 7 months but they started waking so we carried on until 8 months. At 8 months we just stopped offering it and they slept through. You could try Hungry Baby formula at bedtime, we did.
