Hi,

ust seeing if antone else has this or has any helpful suggestions. My ybaby is just over 6 months and has been weaning for 3 weeks. She now has 3 solid meals a day but has only a small feed in the morning 2-4oz and i mix milk into feeds apart from that she doesnt ave milk. I have tried everything. She is under the peadiatrition as she has not gained weight for 3 months he weight now is lower than her 3 month weight ... any suggestions? whaat will happen if she doesnt have milk... could solids be enough for her? i know its not ideal but i cant force feed her ,,,, she is lactose free so has prescribed milk, has reflux meds and has allergies but im not sure what to ..
developmentally shes still progressing (if not advanced) she can stand holding into thing and tries to walk unaided.

any advise

I really think all these questions should be put to your paediatrician. Do you have an appointment soon where you could do this? I would hesitate to offer any advice as your situation is not standard.

Did the paed recommend moving quickly to 3 meals a day? Most of the time it would be nearer to 8 months before you would get to 3 meals. Have they given you any advice on what types of food to give her?

have you been refared to a dieatision at all? As they would be best placed to advice on types of food. I also say that 3 meals a day is a lot for a six month old both mine where more like 9 months before they where are that many meals. unless this was the advice of your pediatrician, is it that she's cut back on the milk with introducing solids? or has she always struggled.

The reason that there is an advised quantity of formula milk is to ensure that babies get adequate nutrition whilst getting the hang of eating solids. I agree with MagGril that maybe your paed could refer you to a dietician for more specific advice for your particular situation.

The peadatrition advised to give her as much as she would eat but to also up the milk intake. She has been refered to a dietician. I didn't plan on giving her 3 meals a day it's what she wanted and as she was either being sick with too much milk (5oz) or refusing it I went with it.

I have had 2 dcs take to food very well and lose interest in milk. One was a huge baby and one was "failure to thrive".

To be honest I always just assumed that everything would balance out and it did for me but my ftt baby was in regular contact with his dr.
