11month old lost interest in meals

Please please help me!!! I am at my wits end here! My dd is 11 months old and has totally gone off eating her meals. She will only take 3-4 mouthfuls and then point blank refuse anything else. I get so frustrated because she should be eating full meals by now. She only has one tooth coming through but I'm told that shouldn't be a problem as the gums are very hard to chew etc. I cook nice meals also :) but she has no interest but still acts hungry after refusing it all!! since she started teething that's really when the problem started BUT will happily eat little snacks like biscotti etc during the day.
HELP!!!!

I really would try not to get stressed, I promise you she won't starve.
It may well be her teeth, it always put ds off his food and loves food. She might be coming down with something. It might just be a phase. It's really common, some days I think ds lives on fresh air others I think he's going to eat the contents of the kitchen.
I know it's disheartening when you've cooked a lovely meal to see it go to waste but my advise would be to just keep offering.
Does she have purees or finger food. Just thinking if purees then you could try finger food as she seems to like this for snacks. I also found it helped ds when I gave him his own cutlery.

I could have written this post! DS 11 months next week and is doing exactly the same with food unless he is at nursery. he will eat yogurt till it is coming out of his ears though. just means I'm up even more in the night feeding cos he is hungry

Snap could have written the post myself. So frustrating isn't it? My ds only has 10 oz milk too which makes me worry even more. i am out of ideas, he's refused everything he loves.

Have you tried just dropping the snacks?
Nutritionally they wont live up to your lovely home made table meals anyway and a longer gap between meals will be better for the amount she eats at the meal time.
Personally I wouldn't be bothered how long a gap is between meals, just think that what she eats over a whole day is far more important than exactly how long ago she last ate. Think nutrition for growth and health over time rather than immediate belly filling.
My HV told me at ds 1 year check that even the best eaters start to refuse food between 12 an 14 months, so when he started this I moved the meals further apart so he has the same over a day that he had always had, just with an extra hour between each meal.
I think building an appetite has far more effect than anything you can do to temp them, fresh air is a good appetite stimulant too.

Both my kids have had phases where they've eaten enough to keep a sparrow alive but then a few weeks down the line it's picked back up.

Sometimes it's been a cold coming, sometimes teeth, sometimes no obvious reason but it's all come out in the wash.

Wow! I'm glad I'm not on my own. I know I shouldn't worry because she does eat a fair bit during the day. She's not waking in the night so she must be full.
ClaireandGeorge she has normal meals but cut up into bite sized bits and the finger food comes in the form of biscotti, rice cakes, pieces of toast etc. I'm not too confident to give her a whole meal to eat on her own yet as it just gets given to the dog hehe. What type of finger meals did u give? Dd has this issue with chewing bits for ages ie bits of chicken Thus making mealtimes very long!!!
cleoowen my dd only has about that milk also. I was told my HV to drop her noon feed coz she wasn't eating her dinner. So I just offer water and snacks now.
Thanks for your replies. Not looking forward to the 12-14 month phase!!!! (Confused)

the 20oz a day thing is fine if you are bottle feeding but DS has formula at nursery (about 2-4oz 3 times a day) and is breastfed at home on demand so no idea how much he has and I make his ready brek with whole milk..
he feeds a lot in the night though
I've found he won't eat if tired and he has to have bite sized chunks one piece at a time. if he is chewing any extra food goes on the floor (in the dog)

thankfully the dog doesn't care if it's pre chewed!!
I just don't understand why he will eat food at nursery but not at home
