6 month not eating solid food - is this ok?

6 mo DS is just not interested in solid food. Have tried purees and finger food, but he's not that into it, and it seems to really badly affect him digestive wise, I.e waking up more in the night (he's a rubbish sleeper anyway!).

I've been trying it one day on one day off iyswim. Yesterday he had no solids, and today I tried him on a little baby rice and he vomited everywhere.

Should I just give up and try again at 7 months? It seems more trouble than it's worth.... But on the flip side he seems hungry all the time, he's waking all hours of the night...

Am at wits end! Any advice gratefully received.....

Yes, food is just for fun until one. Keep offering finger foods, or try again in a month. DD wasn't interested til 7 months.

I would keep offering, but once a day is fine for now. Baby steps!

Any ideas on how to sate his appetite though? Hungry milk has the same effect on his tummy - he's very delicate digestively. Suffered from reflux although fingers crossed its much better.

Off more milk if he's still hungry, not hungry milk though just regular stage 1 of whatever he has. Offer it as an exta bottle rather than more at once if it makes him sick. Ie 6 bottles in day rather than 5.

Offer him a but of your food ie half a banana, if he chooses to eat great, if not no problem either

My 6 month old is hit and miss too. I offer her bits and bobs throughout the day but not getting too worried yet.

My twins are 8 months and only now really taking off with eating. Stick to one meal a day, preferably when he's not tired, had milk up to an hour before. I'd avoid dinner for the moment if he is delicate digestively. Give him time to digest during the day. Agree little milk and often will help him more generally.

It does eventually click. It's like having to feed another adult now! My shopping bill has soared.
