What age can they drink tap water from , I always thought it was 12 months but on my hv's sheet it says 6 months, now dp is challenging me on this and im confused. I must say all the other info on the sheet is a load of bollocks.

I gave it at 6 months without boiling. He still doesn't drink much at 10 months, but he does drink his bath water so I think 12 months is excessive.

6 months according to Food Standards Agency:

'For babies under six months old, take water from the mains tap in the kitchen and boil it'

Also 6 months according to Babycentre:

'Tap water should be boiled for babies up to six months of age. After that it can be offered straight from the mains supply. If you wish to use a filter that is your personal choice, but do follow the filter manufacturer's instructions and keep filtered water in the fridge, as the filtering process removes some of the additives, such as chlorine, used to keep tap water fresh'

Right cheers. I may continue to give him bottles made with boiled water but give him water to drink straight from the tap.
