Can't really comment on your routine as I haven't breasted any of my children so don't know how much they're suppose to have etc. But my 9.5mo routine is like this:

6.30am wake up
7am breakfast (weetabix) and 9oz milk
10am 7/8 oz milk
10.30am nap (about 1.5 hours ish)
11.30-12 dinnertime
3.30pm ish (or whenever I'm home from the school run) 7/8oz milk
5pm teatime
5.30 bath and roughly 6oz milk
6-6.30 bedtime

My health visitor has told me to cut out the 10am bottle though. Although I've tried and DS is having none of it, he'll scream and scream untill I give it to him so I don't think he's ready to drop that one yet

MrsWhirling · 25/09/2013 20:42

Wow, I wish mine would go to bed at 6:30ish!! Does he/she sleep through?

OP posts:
BopsX3 · 25/09/2013 21:23

Yes he sleeps for a solid 12 hours. Hes really not a morning person though, hes very grumpy when he gets up haha.

I unfortunately dont get to sleep all night though, DS1 has SEN and wakes up through the night so Im up and down with him instead of the baby

MoominsYonisAreScary · 25/09/2013 21:27

Sounds a little like our routine, except he wakes a little earlier and goes to bed abit later!

Smartiepants79 · 25/09/2013 21:34

Well my DD looks a bit like this.
7 am ish wakes and has breastfeed
8am breakfast - porridge and fruit
9:30 ish nap usually about 1hr
11:30 breast feed
12:30 lunch-finger food, bread, cheese, tomatoes etc yoghurt
2pm ish nap 1-2hrs
4pm breast feed (not always)
5:30 tea - cooked meal, fruit, custard,
6:30 bath
Then breastfeed and into bed by about 7:15pm

Have you tried stopping his hard nap? He might go to bed an hour earlier then! From my (limited) knowledge of mine and friends babies three naps at this age is unusual. They all need different amounts of sleep tho so....

MrsWhirling · 25/09/2013 21:37

Grumpy baby in the mornings made me LOL!

OP posts:
Smartiepants79 · 25/09/2013 21:38

*third not hard nap!

MoominsYonisAreScary · 25/09/2013 21:41

I think we need to get into some sort of nap routine, although he tends to catnap in the day downstairs, even as a tiny baby he didnt sleep much in the day

BopsX3 · 25/09/2013 21:47

haha he is grumpy! He frowns at me when I talk to him just after hes woken up. I sit him in his highchair whilst I make his breakfast and he just hides behind his blanket (I'm pretty sure hes snoozing under there), and he just refuses to acknowledge anything thats going on. Even when his big brothers are talking to him he ignores them. Hes normally full of smiles for anybody the rest of the time, its just the first half an hour of the day Grin

BotBotticelli · 25/09/2013 22:02

Here is my 10mo day:

0630 wake up
0645 6oz bottle
0730 breakfast (ready brek made with milk and a whole banana)
1030 small snack (fruit and water)
1200 lunch (cheese sandwich, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, yoghurt as pudding). Water to drink.
1600 small snack (biscuit and water)
1700 dinner (spag Bol, homemade pasta, fish pie or similar, fruit for pudding)
1845 6oz bottle
1900 bed

He has vitamin drops once a day on the advice of the HV...since being duly weaned into three meals per day he has totally lost interest in his bottles of milk so I make sure he gets empty of cheese, yoghurt, butter and milk in his diet instead an the vitamins replace those he's missing in formula. He is on 75th centile and has been since birth and loves his food so I am not worried despite him not getting anywhere near 20oz ff.

kaffkooks · 25/09/2013 22:58

Interesting to see what others do, especially with the vitamin drops. My 10 month old is blw and only has one breast feed a day and no formula so I've been wondering if he needs anything else.

7am wakes and breast feed
8am breakfast - I try to vary it so things like toast with peanut butter, yogurt, weetabix and banana, porridge, scrambled eggs
10am snack (fruit or home baking) with cows milk
10.30am nap for 1 1/2 hours
1.30pm lunch - soup, bread, cheese
3.30pm nap for 1 hour
4.30pm snack with water or cows milk
6pm dinner - this evening was haddock with veg and noodles then strawberries for pudding
7pm bath
7.30pm bed

Used to have evening breast feed but I stopped that last week as he was faffing about. I think he eats so much dinner that he's not hungry for it. Does anyone know why you're supposed to give formula rather than full fat milk before they're 1 year old? As you can see, I'm blatantly ignoring that! He's never drunk out a bottle so I don't see a reason to start now.

BopsX3 · 26/09/2013 00:11

Think its something to do with cows milk not having enough nutrients and vitamins in it that a baby needs in their first year.

MoominsYonisAreScary · 26/09/2013 07:18

Yes its to do with vitamins and nutrients. I read on here that bf babies should have vit drops from 6 months but when I asked at boots they said they dont do them for under 1s Hmm

BotBotticelli · 26/09/2013 09:07

That's so wrong what Boots told you! You can buy baby vitamin drops from over the counter - I did after HV said that the 10-12oz of formula he is having per day won't be getting him the right amount of vitamins (I think vits a, b and d are the important ones?).

If your baby is drinking 18-20oz of formula you don't need to worry about it.

If you are BFing I am not sure what the advice is - definitely check with your HV. Also, I think if you are on any kind of benefits you might qualify for getting the vitamin drops for free from your local sure start centre?

MoominsYonisAreScary · 26/09/2013 09:17

Thought they were talking rubbish, was going to nip up to the local chemist this week but the toddler has been under the weather so havent managed it yet. Hes bf although I have been trying to give a bottle once a day but hes having none of it. Will try hv today and see what she says

Smartiepants79 · 26/09/2013 09:52

See my DD is BF and I'm currently trying to get her to drink milk from a cup and she is having none of it really!
Slightly worried I'm going to be stuck feeding her forever.
I really need to wean her before Christmas when I go back to work. She will be 1 so she'll survive! Turns her nose up (literally) at formulas, slightly more interest in cows milk but not a lot.
Have never bothered with vitamin drops. She has a varied diet, not ver sure why she'd need them.

neversleepagain · 26/09/2013 09:55

My twins are 11 months (but was same routine from 9 months)

7:30am - wake & 9oz formula
8:30am - Breakfast (Weetabix, raspberries & blueberries)
9:30am-10am - Morning nap
11:30am - Lunch (thick bean, vegetable & lentil soup, yoghurt, fruit)
12:30pm-3pm - afternoon sleep
4pm - dinner (baked potato with cottage cheese, steamed broccoli, rice pudding, fruit)
5pm - bath & pajamas
5:30pm - 7oz formula, brush teeth, story
6pm - bedtime

cleoowen · 27/09/2013 09:00

Oh glad I am not the only one not giving snacks. Ds doesn't seem hungry for them. Our routine for 9.5 month ds is

7.00 wake up
7.30 b fast, porridge,weetabix,yoghurt and fruit
9.50 nap for 1 hour ish
11.00 7oz bottle
12-12.30 lunch, veg/meat/fish, followed by yogurts or fruit or snack bits
1.20 nap for 1hr 40 mins
3.00 7oz bottle
5.00 dinner, pasta,veg,meat,fish
6.30 bedtime with 7/8/9oz bottle depending on how much milk he's had during day
6.50 bed

minipie · 28/09/2013 08:35

Our routine sounds like yours Cleo but with less sleep . we don't do snacks yet either, dd doesn't drink enough milk as she prefers solids so I don't want her to have snacks instead of milk iyswim.

a typical day might be

6am wake
7am BF
8am breakfast, fruit porridge/yoghurt/toast. I add vit drops to the porridge.
9am nap for 30-40 min
11am bottle (just started switching from bf to bottle) usually only about 4-5oz
12.30 lunch, veg/fish/meat/pasta etc
1.30 nap for 1 hr 15- 1 hr 45
3.30pm bottle 4-5oz
5.30pm dinner, as above
6.45 bath
7.30pm BF and bed.

kaffkooks · 28/09/2013 21:14

Smartiepants, I think the issue is vitamin D as there isn't enough in breast milk. Here in Scotland there isn't enough sunshine between October and March for children to get enough vitamin D and it's difficult to get in their diet. I got some dalivit drops from the pharmacy which I'm putting in DS's water in the mornings and he's taking them fine.

PicnicPie · 30/09/2013 09:51

Our routine is broadly similar to most. I have recently stopped breastfeeding and DD is now on formula. I was concerned about how much milk she was taking in, but I discussed with HV and am just upping her calcium intake through yoghurt, porridge, cereal etc.

0700 - wake 5/6oz
0830 - half a weetabix made with fruit purée and milk
1000 - nap 30 mins to 1 hour
1100 - 4/5 oz
1230 - lunch (sandwiches, pasta, rice, fish fingers, jacket potato)
1400 - nap 60 to 90 mins
1530 - snack (yoghurt, biscuits, breadstick) plus water
1630 - 4oz
1800 - dinner (fish, chicken, etc)
2030 - 6oz and bed

DD will sleep through, but occasionally wakes with trapped wind, mbut will sleep straight away once burped/ passed wind.

I have tried getting her to sleep earlier but she just doesn't want to. So for now I'm quite content with her later bedtime although would like my evenings back soon

PicnicPie · 30/09/2013 10:13

Sorry the 1100 is a snack not 4/5oz!? Don't know why I put that! Doh!
