DS (1 yr old) is spitting out his dairy milk - how dare he!!

So with great excitement I offered DS his first taste of cows milk in a sippy cup - spat it right out and looked at me as if to say "what's that muck?". Fast forward a few days, each time I offer he does the same. Any tips on how to convert him?
I've ended up buying another tin of formula for his last bottle...I'm worried he's not eating enough to make up for the calorie shortfall. He's teething and so his solids are a bit hit and miss recently.

Formula is sweetened so tastes entirely different to cow's milk. We started combining the 2 so would be half formula half cows milk, then gradually lessening the amount of formula. If he's not eating much due to teething you may be better off keeping him on formula a bit longer anyway - that way you know he's getting his vitamins and nutrients :)

thanks Rockchick, I did think about it, in fact he's away to nursery today with a bottle. When you combined did you keep the bottle and warm as usual or did you combine in sippy cup or whatever?

We kept the bottle until he was used to it - if he's having a bottle now maybe just change one thing either bottle or milk rather than both at once? DS was never keen on milk out of a sippy cup so we have just upped his dairy and calcium in meals now, he only has milk before bed.

I thought this was going to be a thread about chocolate!

Yy to mixing the 2 in a bottle and gradually increasing cows milk.

Haha mine did this! We mixed his existing stuff with the CM and gradually reduced the amount of formula. Worked eventually - he chugs it quite happily now!

Grin at nuzzle

Gave it a go at nursery, 4/5 formula and 1/5 cows milk - not a chance. He's back on solids so i'll give it a go again tomorrow. He's currently devouring 8oz of formula, didn't want to mess with this feed just yet. Although in saying that its stopped putting him to sleep. I can hear his dulcet tones throughout the house now....
