Non organic veg

I started weaning DS a couple of week ago I have made him all my own purées but some of the veg I used wasn't organic. Spoke to someone today at baby group who said you should always buy organic for babies due to chemicals etc. now I'm worried! DS seems fine and loves his food but should I chuck all the frozen purée and start from scratch with organic? Xx

I'm pretty sure he'll live and that nothing awful will happen to him. There are worse things in life than giving your baby non-organic veg. You're lucky you can afford to make the choice- most people couldn't.

using non organic never bothered me in the slightest. I am sure your lo will survive it too

Thanks for responses. I realise that not everyone has a choice due to financial and tbh that's why I didn't buy organic 1st I bought what I would normally buy for us - organic if on offer and non if not. I also realise he will survive however because I am a first time mum and nervous about weaning because its all new the comments at group panicked me I suppose.

I think it was only a year back when a scientific study concluded that there was zero health benefit to eating organic food. Obviously there are environmental benefits, and certainly some organic stuff tastes better (carrots and chickpeas sprint to mind) but it's not better for you, or your baby.

oh no, not the dreaded chemicals....

ignore. BTW if it has come halfway round the planet on a plane it certainly isn't organice.
