dd more susceptible to colds since I stopped Breastfeeding

Since I stopped breastfeeding just over a month ago dd 11 mo is already on her 2nd cold. has had one for 3 out of the past 4weeks. The 1st one lasted a full 2 weeks (14 days) where as before they would only last 5 days.

Will her immunity sort itself out? What can I do to help her now that I don't have any breast milk?

This happened when I stopped feeding DS. Just make sure she has a varied diet, sunlight etc. has she just just changed childcare? Could it just be that she is mixing with more children?

went to a 1st birthday party recently. and I've gone back to work - I work with children, maybe that's it.

Dd did this around same age, but I stopped bf much earlier than you. She was sick for about 3 months constantly, I spoke to gp who told me that immunity from you drops off about 9/10 months and their own immunity starts to kick in and combined with return to wk and more socialisation with other kids totally normal.

Thanks Nyancat. I was feeling really bad having stopped (even before she got ill) good to know that this is normal.

DH and I just couldn't understand where all t the cops were coming from

Same here. As soon as DD went to the childminders (at 13months when i went back to work) she had cold after cold after tummy bug after cold. Tailed off after 2 months or so.

Same here too and it started with DS whilst I was still bf so I look at it as being unconnected.
