Obviously I don't mean to drink. I mean in say, a casserole that has cooked for 2 hours. The alcohol will have boiled off won't it?

A small amount of wine for 2 hours, then probably all the alcohol would have burned off - but actually it doesn't cook away as quickly as you'd think.

I would probably draw the line at my late great-aunts' sherry trifle, which was so alcoholic I remember feeling slightly tipsy after a bowl of it.

I'd say yes to letting them taste wine (as long as it's not a sweet one) too. They're not going to like it and want to try more.

A long cooked casserole is fine imo, but not something Flambéed at the end of cooking as that can still be boozy afterwards.

The glasses on the table kept moving a bit and someone laughed about poltergeist stuff. The nephew was coming behind the sofa to sneak drinks and I caught him. BIL didn't believe me so I bet he'd got away with it before.
