Jars

Just wanted to put this on for mums who are having problems with weaning. My DS (6 and a half months) was a nightmare and wouldn't take more than a teaspoonful of anything that I pureed (despite me reading Annabel Karmel!). Tried some jars of babyfood on the off chance, and he loves it (cheeky little monkey).

So, just to say that it may be worth a try if you're having problems (although you will spend a fortune and (if you're like me) feel like a bad mummy!

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Same here - and from talking to RL friends its not uncommon. I've tried putting home made puree into the empty jar, but DD's not fooled. I have discovered however, that she will accept a mix of home made and jar food so now i add some fresh pureed veg to the contents before serving. I don't think their is anythign inherantly bad in the jars (i go for the organic ones and check labels), just not sure how nutricious they are. So adding some fresh veg vastly reduces gulit! Have you tried giving fruit as finger food?

Tried that - he does make me laugh, in that he puts everything he can get his hands on into his mouth, EXCEPT when I give him finger food! Good idea about mixing some purees into jars though, thanks.
