I read somewhere about BLW muffins. Anyone know any recipes?

just google savoury muffins.
they're really easy to find.

I found loads that way. or cheese muffin.

my favourites so far have been sweetcorn, courgette, sundried tomato.

they're all american muffin recipes and I gave found tgat they're easy if you follow the recipe exactly (fold in the flour only abit)
byt don't add the salt.

and they freeze dead well.

i' sorry I haven't given a link but i' onmy phone and it takes ages...

I made some loosely based on the BLW weaning website recipes. The first carrot ones were ok, bit bland. The second broccoli and cheese ones were little green balls of despair, that smelled of feet. My DH christened the Muffins of Disappointment.
Back to the drawingboard...!

The cheese, onion and spinach ones in the blw cookbook (gill rapley) are a fab in our house! I freeze a batch and use them over a few weeks.

nickelbabe · 23/01/2013 11:49

Twelve - i don't eat them myself Grin

I second the ones in the blw cookbook. They freeze really well and very handy to grab one or two out of the freezer if we are going to be out for the day. Yum!

ChinngisKhan · 23/01/2013 12:01

These have a bit of sugar in them, but I made them yesterday and were yummy (just don't add the salt)

carrot and apple

sharond101 · 23/01/2013 21:43

Thank you have all the ingredients for the carrot and apple ones so will try those tomorrow. DS doesn't seem to like cheese so Iam dubious about the ones that have cheese in.

DS loooooves both the cheese and spinach (and I put sweetcorn in too) muffins and the carrot ones, from the blw cookbook. The cheese taste is not massively strong I don't think, but in one memorable cooking incident I did manage not to put cheese in the cheese and spinach muffins, and in fact ds did not seem to notice and still ate them quite happily Smile

you don't have to put cheese in.
it helps bind it a bit, but it's not obligatory.

you can put a spoon of vegetable oil in and then an additional vegetable, if you prefer.

nickelbabe · 24/01/2013 11:38

this doesn't have cheese, but it does have sugar

nickelbabe · 24/01/2013 11:44

this one has yoghurt instead of cheesse

nickelbabe · 24/01/2013 11:47

or go down the scone route:

tattie scone
mustard bacon caramlized onion

nickelbabe · 24/01/2013 11:48

pumpkin drop scones
