May well be worrying about nothing at all but dd (7 months) has gone from being brilliant at taking solids to absolutely rubbish. We're currently away from home at PILs, along with bil and sil, which is not helping - they're lovely but everyone has an oppinion and the comments whilst we're trying to feed dd are driving me up the wall! Dd has had a d and v bug in the last week and is still recovering, also has sore bottem as a result. Since we got here she has only taken 2 of her meals with no hassle. Now at the point where she is turning her head and refusing to take anything. Still happy to bf but as we're down to 3 a day now am worried that this isn't going to meet her needs - will take a while to get supply up. She is coughing and gagging over her meals - not really giving her anything new so we know she likes what's on offer. Really starting to worry, don't want food to become an issue but am feeling like such a crap mother just now - not helped by the million and one well meaning comments.

Thanks tipex, it's been doubly stressful as first time family been together in ages - bil has been abroad and we've not seen him in over 3 years, so he's just meeting dd. Poor old dd really isn't herself at all and the crying is getting really wearing. I'm offering plenty bf as is the only way of ensuring that dd stays hydrated etc at the min - good to know supply will up as needed. It's rotten seeing her like this. Will things go back to normal once she's well again - so worried about the whole food thing becoming an issue, been very hard not to get tense over meal times the last few days.

Same with my ds. Usually when ill (before and after) or when teeth are coming through. I don't worry now - if he needed it, he'd take it!

If she doesn't want it, just leave it until the next meal time. If you're stressed she'll pick up on it and that can make it worse.

They can go days without food, just keep the milk and water going, but don't increase your milk too much or she might decide she prefers the milk!!!
