Hello,
I'm trying to get my little one to eat mince....and I've heard that Jools Oliver has a great spag bol recipe....does anyone have it?
Apparently it's in her book, minus 9 to birth but Waterstones don't sell it anymore - I wanted to take a sneaky photo of the recipe :)

If anyone can help, it would be really appreciated!

I have this book at home, if I remember tonight I will type it out for you. Although I don't think the recipe is any better than any other one I have come across!

Not tried the jools one but have you tried your regular spag Bol or cottage pie or even meatballs or meatizza?

Sorry I didn't get back to you with this!
Here's the recipe:

Makes 10-15 servings (ideal for batch cooking and putting in the freezer!)
Ingredients
Olive Oil
4 slices pancetta or streaky bacon
1/2 a leek, trimmed and diced
1 clove of garlic, peeled and finely chopped
1 carrot, peeled and diced
1 stick of celery, trimmed and diced
1 smalled courgette, diced
1/2 a red pepper, deseeded and diced
1 small sweet potato, peeled and grated or finely chopped
1 handful of mushrooms, chopped
1 x 500g pack of lean minced beef
1 sprig rosemary or thyme
1 bay leaf
2 x 400g tins of plum tomatoes
(optional) 1/2 a tin of chickpeas

Put a deep saucepan on a medium heat. Add a splash of olive oil and add the pancetta or bacon, the leek and the garlic. Cook for 5 minutes then add the rest of the vegetables and cook for a further 5 minutes.
Now add your meat, herbs, (the bay leaf and herb sprig can be put in whole and removed at the end) tomatoes, chickpeas and a can of water. Allow to simmer slowly for one hour. Remember to remove the herbs before serving.

Serve on its own with finely grated parmesan cheese over the top or mixed with some cooked & drained little pasta shapes.

HTH xx
