Apologies to all that this might possibly be the most boring thread ever created, but please can someone advise me? I'm just about to start weaning my 5 month old and would like advice on which freezer trays people find the best as there are loads on the market with conflicting reviews. Any help would be gratefully received!! Thank you :) xx

I wouldn't buy specialist equipment- well I didn't I just used the tubs that could go in the freezer that I already had.

Nothing if you do BLW Grin

Otherwise the set of tupperware type tubs from ikea has lots of tiny little tubs in so is good for freezing baby portions www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60149673/. A couple of sets of those and you will have enough boxes for all your freezer needs for years to come.

i bought 4 oz baby food pots on ebay from a seller called generalstoresltd, something like 30 pots with lids for £4 inc p&p.

i batch cook and these pots have been in the freezer, microwave and dish washer about 5 times and no sign of cracks etc

I've used tommee tippee ones which are good but to expensive if you intend batch cooking

Flexible silicon ice cube trays are useful for small portions of vegetables (easy to get them out). I think Lakeland do extra large ones.

You might not need much more than a stick blender for whizzing up food as you go ( if the back of a fork is no good). We tended to give DS basically what we had, just squished, as we have never really managed batch cooking

I also use the flexible silicon ice cube trays off eBay (£2 each) x

Don't buy loads of tiny pots, you'll end up using about 4 of them in each meal pretty quick!
We ended up using these loads, but then I am weaning twins so we get through it. Virtually finished with purees now but still use them for freezing mash, bolognaise etc.
And don't buy cheap plastic ice trays - the combination of putting hot purees in, then cooling and freezing them meant all mine shattered very quickly. Silicone is much better!
