Calorie intake requirements for a baby/toddler

I'm looking for a link or recommendations for the number of calories a baby/toddler is suppose to consume each day.

Have tried google and can find a brief mention of between 45 calories per pound weight of child (from 12 months), so roughly 1000 calories for a 25lb child.

Does this sound about right?

No concerns with dd, just curious as to how much my 16 month old dd should be eating

It's hugely variable, both between babies and even for the same baby at different times - growth is in spurts, activity levels can differ hugely between different toddlers.

Agree with fred, the type and quantity of milk they receive at this age can also vary wildly too.

Cheers ladies, I'm not concerned at all, just curious. Dd has been BLW since 6 months and we still BF too and she's 16 months.

She took to BLW like a duck to water and has always loved her food. She's been 'off' it recently with her teeth for a couple of days and has come back from it with a vengeance yesterday and today, god knows how many calories she's consumed!Grin

DD eats anywhere from a 500 to at least 1500 + breast feeds through the night, she's very active and a healthy weight. I find it's impossible to predict how much she'll eat, or indeed when as she's allowed to go to the fridge / ask for fruit etc. whenever she wants.
