Increasing fibre intake in a veg refusenik

How smug I was with DS1 who has always eaten everything we give him. DS2 is a totally different animal and eats like a sparrow. He also seems to have some sort of fibre deficiency as his poo is like rabbit droppings. Have tried all sorts of remedies - whole meal pasta, brown rice, unlimited apricots, wheatabix etc but to no avail. He either picks out the protein and disgards everything else or chews apricots/apple etc then spits it out when bored of chewing. Is there some sort of supplement anyone might recommend?? Unless I can work out a way to smuggle bran inside sausages I fear for his bowel health!

is he taking enough fluids? If you increase fibre you also need to increase fluids alongside. I wouldnt give too many high fibre foods as they are bulkier and can fill them up without giving adequate nutrition. A mix of white/wholemeal is recommended and they shouldnt have a fully wholemeal diet until the age of 5.

What age is he?

Agree that he needs more fluids if his poo is like that. Also, and this is just my experience, high fibre diets can make things worse.

Babies don't need high fibre diets. Brown rice, whole grain stuff etc isn't good for them as too bulky.

More liquids, water with every meal and snack. Also try fruit like nectarines and foods like hummus and avocados and sweet potatoes. They've got a good amount of fibre but not too bulky.
