Solids before milk?

Hi, dd (a few days short of 7 months) has been on solids now - mainly purees with some finger foods too - for about a month now. She's mainly enjoying it and is pretty much eating everything I give her.

My routine is

7am - 7oz bottle followed by toast, and now starting porridge

11.30am - lunch (puree - protein, carb and veg) followed by 5-6oz bottle

2.30pm - 5-6oz bottle

5pm - supper (usually protein, carb and veg)

6.45pm - 7oz bottle

My question is, does it matter that she has solids before her milk at 11.30 (and sometimes at breakfast)? I find that at 11.30, if she's had her bottle already, she's not interested in food at all. BUT - if she has her solids first, she'll still have a full milk feed. So I'm not worried about her not getting enough milk but everyone goes on all the time about how babies should have milk first then food.

Sorry, very rambling post for a very short question! Anyone else's baby do this?

Thanks in advance!

My ds often has solids before milk. My hv said whatever works for us is fine so long as he is getting at least 500ml milk each day which he is as is your dd. My ds likes his solids so much now he throws the bottle away from his mouth untl he gets proper food!

I'd try to separate solids and milk by an hour if you can - eg. bottle at 7am, breakfast at 8am, bottle at 11am, lunch at 12pm. Do milk first so she doesn't cut down too quickly.

Thanks for your replies, good to know mine isn't the only one. Not too worried as she's getting a whole day's milk each day but just wanted a bit of reassurance it was ok!
