Early weaning for reflux?

Don't flame me! DD is 17 weeks tomorrow. She is under consultant care for suspected reflux and cmpi. She was in hospital for refusing to feed; resulting in tube feeding and IV fluids. After another appointment today her medical team (consultant, salt) are keen for us to start weaning her to help with reflux.

I weaned DS at 6 months and did BLW. Has anyone weaned this early for reflux? Did it work? I am a little nervous about it.

I did on ds' consultant's advice. She said he was ready at 4 months and I waited another few weeks before starting. We had a lot of multi coloured pukes but in the end I think it helped a little. He outgrew his reflux at 9 months

We weaned a 22 weeks for this reason and under medical advice. I was surprised how much easier my DS takes solids compared to liquids.

I weaned at 18 weeks, partly due to reflux. (also felt he was read - sitting up, etc).

Found baby rice made it a lot worse though, just stuck to mango, pear, apple and other fruit puree for a bout 5 week, before introducing other things. It really helped his reflux. We started on 1-2 teaspoons once a day, and quickly moved to 2 teaspoons 3 times a day, then

...then moved onto finger foods(alongside puree) by about week 23. Now on 3 square meals a day at 7.5 months.

We didnt quite do this, but we did wean 30 weeker premmies at 6 months actual, and one of them had reflux/suspected cmpi.

General comments would be
It seemed to make the reflux better but I think that was partly related to sitting better
It seemed to progress v slowly for us which means it feels like we've been weaning forever. Especially when every cold sets them back to purrees!
There were a lot of purees, but I know done people managed BLW, depends how advanced your LO is
Practically speaking it's a bit of a nightmare in the early days. We started off in an upright bouncer, then bumbos, then ikea antilop chairs with the inflatable inserts. Being able to reliably go to a pub or cafe and bung them in a normal high chair may be a way off
We successfully used lacto-free products after around 9 months, and the intolerance seems to on the way out
the screaming and puking have stopped, that's the main thing!

I didn't and wouldn't. Solids made things worse at first Confused
