You are a BABY, you are supposed to drink milk!

at 11 months you are supposed to be hoovering up ruddy great bottles of it a couple of times a day, not taking 45 minutes to drink 90 ml. And then taking 30, yes 30, before bed

Anyone else? All my friends babies go nuts for milk, mine seem to think I've laced it with arsenic.

Ggggggggrrgggggggghhhhh!

My DD was terrible with her milk until we put her on cows milk at 12 months. She guzzles it down now! barely eats anything else but never mind

SpottyTeacakes · 19/08/2012 19:50

Dd always hated her milk and still does. I know it's frustrating but I really wouldn't worry especially at 11 months. I think by then dd was just having bedtime milk and that was 90mls at the most.

TwelveLeggedWalk · 19/08/2012 19:54

Thank you both. Thing is they're 10 week prem twins so I'm very conscious they're actually only 9 months, and missed 2 months of laying down nice calcium reserves etc in the womb, so I feel like I need to persevere. Ds is particularly rubbish as he's in lacto free formula and it tastes vile. Thank god for lacto free cheese and yoghurt, but he needs some milk to sleep through....

Oh I do feel for you, dd was a month early so nowhere near as prem but I know it makes you worry more! Just keep offering its all you can do Smile and lots of (lactose free) cheese and yoghurts! I hate milk too so can't blame dd for not liking it either!

milkymocha · 19/08/2012 19:59

My eldest refused milk (1year+ formula, cows milk, soya milk) from 14 months.
I tried every bottle, beaker, cup. Gave him straws, spoon fed it etc
I couldnt physically pour it down his neck so would keep offering but never took it.

He is now 28 months and drank his first cup of milk last week after i told him it was 'tea like mummy' Grin i was over the moon.

Just make sure babies have a good source of calcium in their diet each day. Try not to worry!

Heavensmells · 19/08/2012 20:13

My 9mo is the same. Only has milk am and bedtime and he's even fed up of these after a few oz.
He's putting weight on and is healthy. I give him cheese and yoghurt every day and try cereal but he only eats it half the time and I end up giving him toast.

It worries me but there is nothing I can do

Notgrownupinmyhead · 19/08/2012 21:33

What about going up the next stage of teat? If they're in the highest one what about the one for thick liquids? Or sugar free milkshake stuff??

TwelveLeggedWalk · 19/08/2012 21:38

Not, that's a good idea thanks for reminding me - we had the variflow teats when they were younger and had thick anti reflux milk., I must see if we still have any. Tried it in a different type of beaker today to see if novelty would work - nope!

I have now lost track if the number of different milks and teats they've been on between them at various stages, no wonder they've given up! (did eat the most enormous bowl of cheesy mash tonight tho, so not all lost!)

I was up at a similar time too. Aren't they also meant to be sleeping then too?? Mines 1 in October.

TwelveLeggedWalk · 20/08/2012 19:57

Yep, pretty sure Not!
