BLW - advice please

My Dd is 28w and I started spoon feeding her at 24w to start to introduce a few tastes, but having left my blender on holiday decided to give BLW a try a week ago. The first few days she lived it and ate far more than expected, but for the last two days she has gotten really agitated a meals until she is given something on a spoon.
I wondered if this is normal. It's possible that she might be tired, or over hungry but it's been at every meal for two days. I was really getting into BLW but suddenly I'm questioning it.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

I think if she wants food on a spoon, give it to her. You are responding to her needs - what could be more baby led than that?!

You could also try giving her the loaded spoon to feed herself. Sometimes that's a happy medium.

How lovely to have a willing eater (my children = mealtime beasts).

Are you making sure baby is not too hungry as milk is still primary source of nutrition. As you say they mustn't be too tired either. It may be that they just don't like the particular food you are Giving them, are they able to watch you eating the same? They don't need 3 meals a day, try one meal with a variety so they can experiment, remember blw is about learning and experiencing not volume of food. There is a good blw group on baby centre where you get just lw mums giving advice and support.

we've been doing BLW-ish for 2 weeks now and it's really varied. Sometime he's too tired to eat, or too hungry (so give him a quick milk feed 1st).

We end up doing a combination most days- offer him finger food (toasted soldiers with hummous, steamed broccoli, etc) and have a thick spoony option to hand e.g. Hummous, yoghurt, mashed banana, etc. And offer him pre-loaded spoons to feed himself. .

Thanks, I'm wondering I'd it's teeth. Today she only really wanted boob and a few spoons of fruit purée, nothing compared to normal and she's running a bit of a temperature. I'll persevere starting by offering her finger food, then finishing off with a bit of spoon if she's not got much in.

In that case you might try cold foods like cucumber or watermelon sticks or thick greek plain yoghurt? Good luck.

It really varies and teething can definitely have a lot to do with it. Just remember that food is supposed to be fun and an exploration until your baby is 1, and milk is her main source of nutrition. That always took the stress out of it for me anyway.

Chocoholiday absolutely. Yesterday morning, for some reason, our baby started crying when he was in his bumbo being offered porridge and we just scrapped the idea and gave him a milk feed instead. But by lunchtime he was chilled out and chomping on roasted sweet potato. It does take the pressure off to think of this as an add-on for a while.
