Just had a review appt with dietician for dd (8mths) her weight was going up really well but as she has had a tummy bug she has dropped in weight Sad anyway the dietician mentioned baby gravy granules and a cheese sauce granule but she couldn't remember if it was C&G who made them and if they were still available, anyone know?? Smile

and btw .. being blunt is a bloody godsend with all the drivel that goes on on many sites

its what mumsnet is famous for

Wordsmith · 06/03/2006 17:04

Your reaction was not that bad Twiglett. At least you didn't want to sack the dietician!

Enid · 06/03/2006 17:04

I did

Piffle · 06/03/2006 17:05

marigold do a lower salt bouillon powder which I've always used for dd.
Cheese sauce piece of cake, make in advance and freeze up in portions.
Also try not to worry if your dd eats pretty well her weight will pick up again, you'll lilely find she'll increse her milk to boost her calorie intake as well.

I am a membr of the food mafia too Wink but like to try and convert folks before lynching them Grin

I sometimes used veg gravy and cheese sauce granules in dses lunches when weaning. I could hardly give them the sandwiches that I was having, and I didn't always have the time to whip up a pan of fresh cheese sauce.

Don't see what the fuss is about - it's not like she's going to eat it for every meal.

Mercy · 06/03/2006 17:26

Nothing wrong with the C & G gravy imo. I can't find it any more unfortunately. Helps them to eat 'dry' food ime.

Twiglett · 06/03/2006 17:36

what's wrong with dry food?

that's what I don't get .. its not exactly that dry is it

moondog · 06/03/2006 18:00

I'll give you a quick recipe for chicken gravy.
Buy chicken
Remove wrapping
Place in oven

With me so far??

Okaaaay.......

When it comes out, take the chicken out, place the pan with juices init over a low heat and stir.
Add a little flour as it bubbles.
Add water to thin it.

Exhausting that....

Now now ladies.

Twiglett · 06/03/2006 18:09

I am mightily restrained on this thread

I have not mentioned what 'baby gravy' actually is have I?

Grin
Twiglett · 06/03/2006 18:10

VeniVidiVickiQV · 06/03/2006 18:18

SorenLorensen · 06/03/2006 18:19

Do they make it out of babies then, Twig?

Twiglett · 06/03/2006 18:20

Blush

I thought Twigs recipe started out with a handful of baby dust, then you "mix it up".

Just looking at moondogs recipe...'Remove wrapping'?? You mean the chicken is bought?

Don't you hand rear and slaughter it yourself first??Wink

shellybelly · 06/03/2006 19:46

I'm going to be really really bitchy now
If yu have not got time to make a cheese sauce but you have got time to make yourself a sandwich
Well selfless you are then.
It takes 5 minutes and you can do other stuff at the same time - like make your sandwich
or snort cocaine, shag the builder anything Grin

shellybelly · 07/03/2006 11:27

er who said I didn't have time to make cheese sauce I certainly didn't, and if shagging the builder floats your boat then go for it Grin

They are made by Cow and gate, but they are horrid! Don't waste your money. I tried them with DD and she spat it out in disgust.

Marigold make a no salt stock that you could use.

YearoftheMonkeyProductions · 28/02/2007 22:55
