Hi. I'm sure this has been done before but want words of wisdom. 6.5mo weaned around 5 months. Took it really well.. And was soon on 3 meals. Typical day was
Am - milk then some kind of cereal
Lunch 90ml milk and then chicken potato and veg, fruit/ yoghurt
Mid afternoon milk snack
5pm- sweet potato and lentil bake, natural yoghurt
630pm milk then bed

Now he is not taking anything other than yoghurt. He will take a couple of spoons of food then get all upset. We done a mixture of blw and puree's. He is ok with his finger foods but can't get enough in. He was doing so well...

Is it a phase, teeth... Destined to never eat properly!?!?

Words of advice/previous experience please :)

Hi there...my DS was exactly the same about a cpl of weeks ago, was stressing me right out as I'd got used to him eating a decent amount 3 times a day..so when he suddenly was totally off his food, I put it down to teeth but kept trying to give him everything he'd usually eat so he dint lose the taste for things. He too would happily eat yoghurt/fromage frais all day.
As it turns out, it was a developmental thing- he started crawling about a week ago...and just as suddenly, his appetite came back!! And just to add, today he's got a tooth bud popping thru his gum, and runny nose etc do clearly teething, but this hasn't affected his eating...!!

Not quite wisdom, but hope ur LO bounces back to eating soon, in t meantime just feed him more and giving him what he will eat as I'm sure u already are doing! Hth x

If you think he may be teething try giving him ibruprofen and applying a teething gel, like Dentinox, before he has solids.

As for refusing the food though, don't worry at all. Milk is all he needs at this age and solids are more about exploring taste and texture, rather than seeing how much food you can shovel into him Smile.

Just keep offering the food and if he refuses assume he's had enough or isn't hungry. Keep calm, enjoy your food, chat to him as you eat and clear away when you've finished. Don't offer him an alternative or he will suss that if he refuses the food you've lovingly prepared he will get something more to his liking instead!

Food is for fun until you are one, it's hard to believe but really is true Smile.
