Sudden breakfast refusal

Nearly 10mo DS was, until a couple of days ago, eating a good bowl of porridge with fruit puree, but he has all of a sudden stopped wanting it. He doesn't want anything else, either (was persuaded to have 1 mouthful of a banana&date chewy bar and 2 mouthfuls of toast today). He eats well at dinnertime, and okish at teatime (if it's something he really likes), but having moderately recently started sleeping through, it's odd that it's breakfast that he's refusing.
He's also pretty much given up on carbs other than bread.

I'm not worried about his overall food intake, espesh as he's still having 3 or 4 BFs a day, I just find it very odd that he's suddenly off breakfast. Is this a normal kind of behavior?

Might it be due to the warm weather? Try offering juicy fruit mid-morning instead in warm weather? Wouldn't worry unless he starts losing weight. BTW as well as being thirst quenching, fruit is a (simple) carbohydrate so will still give enough energy if plenty is eaten. Dried fruit also good for keeping them going if not keen on other carbs though not for hydrating of course. We find our LO likes later breaksfast about an hour or two after she has woken up rather than straight away - we think her digestive system just needs a little time in the morning, before she starts to feel hungry. I don't think this is uncommon. She often has only a banana (sometimes nothing) then eats breakfast at CMs.

I did wonder about the warm weather, but it's not very warm in our house by 0830.
He has milk on waking, then (refuses) breakfast at least an hour later, and then nothing til midday, when he eats quite well (not as very well today though).
I guess it's the suddennes that is puzzling me.

My 9 mo DS did exactly the same thing, he used to love his porridge and about a month ago just stopped eating it for no apparent reason! I think he was maybe bored of having the same thing every day, who knows?! I tried toast/weetabix/fruit with not much success but recently gave him cornflakes and banana which he seems to love almost as much as he loved porridge.

Ooh, glad to hear it isn't just us!
Have tried a variety of tempting (but appropriate!) goodies, but he just isn't very keen on more than a few mouthfuls of carbs in the morning any more. Fromage frais, yoghurt and fruit all go down well though.

Ours recently seems to prefer a whole pear and a scrambled egg rather than porridge or toast/bread. As long as your child eats some carbs during the day it doesn?t really matter when he eats them I suppose. I tend to think they know what they need really. We have found ours eats when she is hungry and doesn?t if she isn?t, regardless of our family mealtimes - her very hungry times doesn't always coincide completely with mealtimes especially during the week as we have little choice over when we eat due to work and bedtime, but we try to time our meals at weekends for the times we know she'll be hungriest. Ours hasn't eaten much at all the last few days though, due to the heat (mostly just juicy fruit and yogurt and not much else), but hasn?t lost any weight yet, and seems to be making the usual bowel movements etc so I wont worry unless she seems ill or starts to look thin. They do eat more/less depending on growth spurts (and daily activity levels) as well. Sometimes our LO eats so much I think she'll burst (a whole roast chicken leg, four roast potatoes, plus broccoli, then adult portion of cake, with yogurt and fruit for desert!!!) so I guess this period of eating little is counteracted by the periods during which they eat massive amounts.
