Anyone else got a slow starter food wise?

Dd2 is ten months and hardly eats. Growing well and e b f. She won't take stuff off spoon-been trying since six months. She will sometimes eat the things from our meals that I give her-veg pieces, fruit, bits of bread. I feel like a rubbish mother. The other two Dc loved food at this age-although Ds was another spoon refuser.

My DD did not eat much till past one year - but she is doing much better now (16 months) and eats an ok range. She always refused spoons and puree and would only eat fairly dry finger food - I've kind of adapted meals to be as balanced as possible around what she will eat.

So I really think your DD will get into it eventually...

Ha-so dd2 ate, or at least held, put to mouth, gummed/bit, sort of chewed and may even have swallowed banana, strawberry, sweet potato and bread dipped in soup today. It all seems a far cry from dd1 at this age on three meals a day plus snacks but feels like huge progress. Perhaps she knows I wrote about her yesterday Wink. I wrote about sleep too today - maybe she'll sleep through!!

My ds didn't eat anything at all until 10 months then went straight on to real food and eats anything and everything now

Very reassuring - thanks!

My dd2 is 9 months and started weaning very well with home cooked food and some from pouches but now she's hardly eating much at lunch or dinner. She's a healthy size but I'm also worried about what to give her when she clamps her mouth shut! Strangely enough she opens it wide for fruit dessert or yoghurt :)

My DS is a slow starter, also EBF. He has had allergic reactions to a few different foods which makes things more complicated... he's under an Allergist at the hospital now. He's a chunky thing though and I give him some Dalivit from time to time. He's starting to eat a bit more now as he has a few more teeth but its definitely not 3 square meals!
