Frozen vegetables

Is there any reason why I can't use frozen vegetables for my dd, I don't have a huge amount of time and want to feed my dd as well as I can, however it dawned on me that she was eating maybe too much fruit and not enough veg as it was easy as I didn't need to peel/cook it etc.

Whilst in the supermarket I found a bag of frozen veg for steaming, a mixed bag of sweetcorn, peas, carrots and brocolli, in little bags. But I feel such a cheat and so guilty about it.

Am I just being lazy, or is this OK. I know any veg is better than none, but is she still getting the nutrients?

I suppose its just another thing to feel guilty about in motherhood, along with everything else you try and do for the best Grin

I don't see why not, veg is veg, but if you are still worried then you can buy fresh ready chopped broccoli, carrot batons, baby corn, cauliflour florets, green beans, etc. Although, if I remember rightly, frozen veg actually often has more nutrients than fresh because it gets frozen straight away while the fresh is sitting around and slowly losing nutrients so maybe you're doing the healthier option Wink

Can't see why not. We did BLW with DD so she had frozen veg from week one as we have frozen veg alot too.

Frozen veg has more vits/minerals etc usually cos frozen quickly for doesn't leach out.
I ALWAYS and ONLY use frozen veg, even for weaning

Frozen broccoli is my saviour if needing to pad out a dinner. Frozen sweetcorn, peas and carrots have all been tried and tested with success in our house Smile
