Food ideas to send to childminder for 11mo with no teeth?

At the moment I'm sending DS to the childminder with 2 hot meals a days for her to spoon feed to him but he is getting frustrated with being spoon fed and really could do with some practice at feeding himself.

However, apart from bread I'm a bit stuck or ideas for what I can provide for him. She is happy to provide the food but would like suggestions from me.

He has no teeth yet so although does a good number on a bit of toast is not great at some of the foods that new chewing.

I'd be very greatful for your suggestions!

he ought to be able to eat most stuff even without teeth, their gums are v. hard

am sure he'd be fine with some sandwiches, raisins, banana, pear, breadsticks, rice cakes with different toppings, falafels always went down well with my lot. um.. potato wedges? soft veg, humous to dip things into, cheese

My dd (8 months and no teeth despite weeks of teething hell ) manages pretty well anything as long as there isn't a chewy skin. Fishcakes and jacket wedges, lumps of omelettes, veggie balls (grated courgette, some spring onion, a bit of mozzarella/cheddar, egg and breadcrumbs - roll into walnut size balls and bake at 180 for about 12 mins). She also likes feeding herself pasta. Messy but she's pretty good at getting penne/rigatoni/spaghetti into herself. As well as on the dog.

Womb love the veggie balls recipie! Might try that myself! OP I'm in a similar situ with my DS. I say similar. DS would quite happily continue to be spoon fed but I think he needs to feed himself more and chew more. He tends to take a hoover approach to food. I've had good success recently with carrot sticks steamed for 10 mins and even fish fingers. I was thinking of making some meatballs too. Also have you seen those pouches you can get of pureed fruit? You can just take the lid off and let them suck away. Although I'm not a fan of giving them pre-prepared food too often! Fruit sticks for pudding would also be good - mango, strawberries yum yum.

Like thisisyesterday says your DS can eat almost everything without teeth. Babies are actually born with teeth under their gums. Nothing like an elderly without teeth at all. My DD manages fine with the same food as preschoolers at nursery and the same stuff we eat. She can do skins too with sausages at nursery. I assume she just spits the skin out like she does with plums at home.
