Help - real mum's experiences needed!

Hi Everyone,

I'm a mum of a toddler, and a student, and after weaning my baby I decided to do my dissertation on why people wean the way they do. I have put a questionnaire on the media requests page (i.e. I paid the fee!) and I would really love it if I could get your answers. I think that the information I was given from health visitors etc didn't take real life into account so I want to hear what other real people think too.

So far I have about 85 responses but I really need about 150 for good quality data.

My original post is at www.mumsnet.com/Talk/media_nonmember_requests/1422893-A-survey-about-weaning-your-baby

Thanks so much for your help!!!!!!!!!

Hi I just went to fill this out and because my baby was premature I guess I didn't qualify to answer the questions, as I was told 'thank you' before answering any weaning questions. I wonder why that is?

Sorry FeralGirl, there was a glitch with the survey software which I have no fixed. It should have directed you to a page explaining that I do indeed need parents of full-term babies. This is only because babies that are born earlier tend to have a bit more emphasis placed on nutrition by the health visitor and others.

Thanks for filling it out though.

Fantastic! Thanks Everyone Thanks I'm still about 20 responses short so if you know anyone who might like to fill it out, please forward them the link!

One of the really interesting things to come out in the early results is that almost nobody found advice from their partner's mother important in the decisions they made about weaning. From my personal experience, I know that Mother's-in-law tend to give a lot of advice too! HmmWink
