Can't tell when DD is full - help!

Hi
I'm wondering how you know how much to feed your babies - my DD seems to love food, so I'm doing a combination of spoon feeding and finger foods. She is 7 months. What I'm concerned about, is that she continuously opens her mouth for the spoon and she doesn't seem to have any signals that she is full. The other day she kept jumping on the spoon with her eyes wide and then vomited shortly after, so assuming she ate too much!

I don't want to overfeed her, and the obvious answer is they just close their mouths or turn their heads away when full, but my DD doesn't seem to do this! I don't want to just keep shoveling the food in, is it possible she still doesn't understand that food fills her up? I can't seem to find an adequate answer on how much they should have per meal.

Anyone have any experience of this?

Just making a wild guess here. How fast are you feeding your LO? It takes a while for the brain to register you have got enough food. It's not as simple as they will stop when they have had enough.

This article explains very well how complex feeling full really is

I always take my time at mealtimes - she often feeds herself with a loaded spoon and I eat with her, so it's pretty slow going. I'd be surprised if I was feeding her too quickly as I never rush with her...but I'll definitely have a look at this article. Thanks.

Does she just like the spoon? My DS loves chewing on a spoon and cries for it even when he is full.
