Stock cube query?

Hi, I'm currently weaning my DS who is 6 months. Was planning to give him some potato and also some carrot/turnip which was cooked in our mince but I've just realised I added a beef stock cube to the mince. Should I not give the veg or would it be okay?

I've not added any salt to the potatoes obviously.

It will be absolutely fine. especially as he's not likely to eat much anyway at 6 months, but even if he ate a lot he wouldn't actually get up to his salt limit on one single meal like that.

did you know that you can get low salt veg stock cubes from health food shops? I think there's a brand called Kallo that say 'very low salt' I'm going to use them when I start weaning in a couple of weeks.

Boots and most supermarkets also sell 'baby' stock cubes. They're low salt.

There are also adult low salt stock cubes. I use marigold reduced salt bouillon for example.

We cook from scratch a lot so use quite a few stock cubes and wanted DD to eat our food too. We bought some Cow and Gate baby stock cubes, but DH and I found them almost totally tasteless. We then got some Kallo low salt ones, which are still a lot more salt than the baby ones but taste better. Sometimes we use a combination of one baby cube and one adult one, which is a compromise between low salt for her and tasty food for all of us. We get all these varieties of stock cube in our Sainsburys which is not huge.
