I bought natural yogurt and mixed in a bit of mashed banana or pureed fruit.

I do natural yoghurt (soya as dairy intolerant) with fruit too. Also good to mix some weetabix in for breakfast.

I'm not very strict with sugar. (Though I seem to be in a minority for not giving 10mo DD a pudding everyday). I just give her any old flavoured full fat yoghurt. She shares the tub with us and we usually buy Onken.

I will only eat natural yoghurt if I stir in sugar, so I don't see why she should eat sour yoghurt.

Plum baby yoghurts are pretty low in sugar compared to most, made with fruit puree etc. I get mine from either Waitrose or some Sainsbury's. About £1.75 for six

Rachel's Organic do not have added sugar, (but they do contain the natural sugars present in the fruit). Also Petit filous make natural yoghurt with no added sugar -probably more expensive than just buying a big pot of natural yoghurt but sometimes it's useful to have small individual pots!

i just used natural yog and added fruit, it seems to only come in big tubs so i freeze it in an ice cube tray and then in the morning take a couple of cubes out and put them in the fridge and they are defrosted by lunchtime. you can defrost it in the microwave but the consistency goes funny, it still tastes fine tho!

then if she is going to have some for dinner i get some out at lunchtime. its easy and very cheap :)

You may not even need fruit - mine loves natural yoghurt.

4madboys · 26/01/2012 14:32

yeah my dd will eat it with no fruit, but its easy to add some and its more fruit, tho now she is older she cant eat enough fruit, she loves the stuff, but tbh she loves any food, spag bog, chilli, jamabalaya (sp) she just eats whatever we are having.

she wasnt very good at having milk when she was younger so the yog was a good way of topping her up. she is 13mths now and seems to like her milk again!

i have never bought 'baby' yog, they are just a marketing gimmic as babies can just eat normal natural yog, obviously not the brands with honey in if they are under one.

DD2 loves plain Greek yogurt either with or without fruit.

I use plum yogurts, they have no added sugar.

Sainsbury's fromage frais are, I think, the only sugar free cheap supermarket brand, made with fruit purée. My DS loves them, especially the pouches which he grabs and sucks himself. Very useful when out and about too.
