Have you found blw has meant slower weight gain?

My DD is 8 months and is EBF to 6 months then blw. She's been in the 9th centile since 3 months and dropped to the 2nd this week.

She was ill over new year and is very mobile, so I'm not too worried. But I wondered if the slower uptake of significant amounts of food due to blw might affect babies perceived weight progress along the dreaded percentile chart.

My 9mo DD dropped from 50th to 25th and stayed there. She got bronchiolitis and that's what triggered the drop mainly as she was on only IV drip for nearly a week. When I took her for a weigh in the HV only asked if she's very active when they see her weight. And she is indeed very active. She's forever crawling.

So I think BLW isn't really linked to her weight not stating at 50th. Tbh she won't eat as much on the spoon because she's a spoon refuser Grin. And the nursery says she has a really good appetite and she self feeds there too. I don't have any comparison. So I'm guessing she eats a comparable amount to spoonfed babies?

I'm not sure how much difference it makes. DS was BLWd and he put on a lot of weight but I suspect he would have been a keen eater either way. I think as long as you're happy with her progress activity wise and if she's otherwise healthy, its probably not worth worrying too much about weight especially after a period of illness.
