BLW and travelling

We're flying to the UK tomorrow, and it's our first trip since DS (7 months) started on solids. He is used to having three meals a day and has dropped a formula feed during the day. How do you manage BLW feeding without too much mess when out and about?

We'll be at the airport, probably waiting at the gate, at his usual breakfast time. But what and how to feed him? The flight is only 2 hours so I don't have to feed him on the plane. But he is now used to helping himself from my plate when he is sat on my knee, and I'm not sure that BA's finest grease laden cooked breakfast is the ideal food for him to be feasting on while we are on the plane.

We will arrive at my parents' house, after a 2 hour drive, in time for a very late lunch. Do we just ignore food for a day and give lots more formula instead?

Thanks! :)

I carry a lot sleeve bib, a sippy cup and order stuff on the menu for DD. I figure a once off of higher salt food won't do her harm! For breakfast I think most places can do toast? And you can ask for no salt in the eggs too? I also like to pack some rice cakes and dried fruit just in case.

And I always use a high chair. I can do without sausage on my trousers Grin

Pack a marmite sandwich, a banana, and some grapes (or whatever). If you order a fried breakfast, get an extra slice of toast and some scrambled eggs. Then you're covered either way. (literally, in crumbs and squashed banana probably Xmas Wink)

Are you flying business class ? Cos on a 2 hour ba flight, you're lucky to get a muffin chucked at you these days.

But bread, a pear, and some cheese is fairly unmessy and portable

Thanks for replies. Yes business class. At airport now. Got cucumber and petits filous (natural flavour Grin) packed. Hope to get extra bread on plane. Will only break into the messy stuff if desperate. But definitely no food in the hire car! Grin
