To sterilise or not to sterilise?

I have just started weaning my 6mo who has been ebf and I haven't expressed, apart from when I had a blocked duct.
So......just wondering - what is the norm for sterilising? At the moment I am dishwashing then sterilising; pump, bottle, bowl and spoon. I am just dishwashing food processor and ice cube trays. I know this probably sounds silly - I don't want to turn into a germ-obsessed lunatic but want ds to be safe.
Any advice welcome, thanks

Does he/she put all sorts into his/her mouth? If so then I wouldn't bother. Smile

no, no need to bother sterilising at that age

you don't need to sterilise weaning stuff. Personally I would sterilise the breast pump though.

I think you are still supposed to sterilise bottles and breast pumps, but if you have a dishwasher that will be enough.

That was my thought! He puts everything he can get hold of into his mouth. It all seems a bit excessive to me but as usual there is always the worry you are a terrible mummy! (Someone was talking aboiut nappy free play the other day - I never do this!!!)
