DD is 20 weeks and I have decided we will start weaning soon.
She will not take a bottle so i was just going to move straight onto sippy cups.
I have decided not to express this time and she does not seem to like the taste of the Cow and Gate ready made bottles I have bought a box of, so I was just going to put an ounce of cows milk in the sippy cup. Will this be OK for her tummy?

No, not at all. No cows milk for a year. Try a different brand.

I think she will continue to need breast milk or formula until she is one.

No!!!! Too salty, no iron.
Breast milk or formula milk to 1.

No, sorry have not made myself clear. I know that when you start weaning you can make the porridge and mashed potato with cows milk. So they can have cows milk in food.

We will be breastfeeding for at least 18 months if the others are anything to go by. I just wanted to give a taster of milk in the cup to encourage her to suck it, without the hassle of the breast pump.
I suppose I could put juice or water in it but I would prefer to keep it high calorie.

But a taster of cows milk, or formula for that matter, will be nothing like beastmilk. Does she take expressed milk from a bottle? My ds never took expressed milk or formula and it was a massive pita. Try warming it to roughly body temperature and try again. Aptamil was the only one my dd would take, and she was breastfed alongside that for about 4 months from around the same age I think. But she was already used to a bottle of expressed milk too.

My DD will drink water from a cup, but I think she enjoys washing her mouth more! I've heard from from other mums with babies who won't drink water, that juice always work. Especially those expensive baby juice.
