Best highchair for blw from mothercare?

TinyDiamond · 07/12/2011 19:52

My inlaws want to buy us a highchair but needs to be from mothercare as they have vouchers. I had decided on the basic ikea one that everyone raves about. We use these in our cafe and I think they are great but inlaws are quite old fashioned and will not be told.
Can anybody recommend one?
Thanks

this looks a bit similar. How much are they looking to spend?

TinyDiamond · 08/12/2011 12:27

I think they are willing to spend loads. Maybe up to £100. I, however am not willing to let them spend it seeing as whatever they get will probably accidentally get replaced by something smaller, cheaper and more convenient anyway. Sigh

I really like the one you linked but it's only available online it needs to be one that is instore for us to physically go and look at and touch before we buy

what about this one?

it's like the ones you often see in cafes, similar to the ikea one but wooden...

TinyDiamond · 08/12/2011 13:08

Yep I like the wooden one that's sort of what I had in mind thanks will see if my store stock it.
If it was left to them I'd end up with one of those absolutely huge monster ones probably bright pink glittery Disney princess with 100 toys hanging off!

Disclaimer= I know I sound incredibly ungrateful seeing as they are doing a nice thing in wanting to buy us a present, I'm not. It's just we already have the offer of a perfectly good second hand one but they are a bit snobby about stuff like this they think it's 'unhygienic' for the baby to not have everything new but personally I hate waste. It's also a right pita for me to find time to go with them to buy it as it's far and I'm bloody busy. I'm not a brat-honest

if they want to spend a lot then you could also do worse than a tripp trapp!
easy enough to clean and will last a lot longer as you can use it as a normal chair too... not sure if they keep them in store though

lilham · 08/12/2011 18:27

I'd like a tripp trapp too. It's lovely how it grows with your child. And looks really good in the dining room too.

TinyDiamond · 09/12/2011 23:31

Yes I really like those but think that maybe a bit too much £. Also, they don't stock them in my store. Infact I went today to see what they had and they only stock 5, all of which are unsuitable. Annoying

Can you not use the vouchers on web orders? No wonder they are struggling!

TinyDiamond · 10/12/2011 14:09

I'm sure you can but they don't 'do' Internet shopping and insist on seeing things before you buy them you see

Will they not use there vouchers for something else we have a beautiful expensive health hazard of a high chair so wish I'd pushed for the ikea one or that wooden one but parents insisted it had to be padded!!
